maguipi buenaventura

🌊A purposeful getaway to a hidden treasure in the Pacific called Magüipi, a beach located 30 minutes from Buenaventura, one of the most polluted beaches in the country. 🇨🇴⁣

✨It was 2 days in this incredible place, knowing and enjoying its beaches, mangroves, puddles and its beautiful sunsets. In which we carried out 2 cleaning days each of 1 hour and we collected qprox 100 kilos of garbage. ⁣

WITH WHOM DO THIS EXPERIENCE?
💧I did this experience with Chao Plástico, which is an organization in charge of educating, transforming, and doing tourism with a purpose, cleaning beaches where not only cleaning is done, but beautiful places are known. All your experiences leave from Cali, so if you are from another city you must get to Cali, or if you are in Cali take advantage!!⁣

Bye Plastic of the sea

DO YOU WANT TO HELP?
🙌🏻You can also volunteer in one of their cleaning days, it is a perfect trip for those who want to contribute a grain of sand, rethink and improve their habits, get to know beautiful places and incredible people, it is also an excellent experience for those who want to travel alone because many volunteers go alone and from many parts of the country. ⁣

HOW DO THE CONFERENCES WORK?
🗑 In the conferences, what is done is a workshop where the types of plastic are explained, which can be recycled and which cannot, the volunteers are divided into groups and each one is assigned a type of material that must be collected in the sacks. After collection, the material that can be recycled is transformed into plastic wood and used for furniture and construction. ⁣
Colombian Pacific garbage
⚠️ WHY ARE THE BEACHES OF THE PACIFIC THE MOST CONTAMINATED? ⁣

Because in the Pacific there is a system of currents and there is the Colombia current that goes down to the northwest, in addition, Buenaventura does not have a good sewage system, for this reason, all the waste reaches the sea directly and the currents transport all that material to the beaches, in addition the Pacific tides can rise and fall up to 2 times their level. ⁣
